Formulas
Delivery − Rounded-down totalKey points
Rounding driftsRound each size, and 100 units can add up to 101.
Round down first12 + 35 + 33 + 18 = 98: 2 are left.
Biggest remainderLeftovers go to the biggest decimals: M, then S.
Check the total13 + 36 + 33 + 18 = 100.
Every allocation has to add up to the stock you have. Round down, then give the leftovers to the biggest remainders.
Practice
1. A delivery of 100 is split by size (F2). In C3, work out size M's exact units.
=F2*B32. Rounding each size gives 13 + 36 + 34 + 18. How many units is that?
13 + 36 + 34 + 18 = 101, one more than the 100 in the delivery3. Round every size down instead: 12 + 35 + 33 + 18 = 98. How many units are left to give out?
100 − 98 = 2 units4. Tap the size that gets the first leftover unit.
M has the biggest remainder: 35.8, so .8.5. Why not just round every size the normal way?
The sizes can add up to more or fewer units than the warehouse hasLearn it by doing. This lesson is a short hands-on level on Bampaa: see it work, then build and write it yourself, with instant feedback.
